What is the Peak Time Rewards program?

Peak Time Rewards is a behavioral demand response program we offer Alliant Energy customers in Iowa. The program allows residential customers to participate in a demand response program by reducing electricity use during Peak Time Rewards events.

When we schedule a Peak Time Rewards event, we notify participants up to 24 hours in advance to let them know about the opportunity to save energy and earn rewards. They can choose to receive alerts through text or email. They have the flexibility to lower their energy usage in the way that works best for them. 

Participants will earn $1 for each kilowatt-hour of energy saved during an event. We distribute rewards earned over the event season of June through September after the event season has concluded. We send rewards in the form of a virtual Prepaid Mastercard to the email participants provide on their enrollment application.
