How do I know if I am eligible to participate?

Smart Hours for smart thermostats

To be eligible to participate in the smart thermostat program, you must:

• Be an Alliant Energy® residential customer.
• Have an eligible Wi-Fi-enabled smart thermostat. See which brands we support. You may have multiple smart thermostats, but there is a limit of one enrollment bonus per household.
• Have a Wi-Fi network that is always on.
• To participate in our summer season, have central air conditioning or a heat pump connected to a smart thermostat.
• Receive both electric and natural gas services from Alliant Energy and have central air conditioning and an electric or gas furnace to be eligible to participate in both summer and winter seasons.

Smart Hours for EVs and EVSEs

To be eligible to participate in the electric vehicle (EV) and EV charger (EVSE) program, you must:

• Be an Alliant Energy residential electric customer with an eligible Wi-Fi enabled Level 2 EV charger or Wi-Fi enabled EV with an active connected services subscription.
• Have a Wi-Fi network that is always connected.

Smart Hours for water heaters

To be eligible to participate in the water heater program, you must:

• Be an Alliant Energy residential electric customer in Wisconsin or Iowa.
• Have an electric water heater.
